Introduction

Genome Sequence

 

The whole genome of Halobacterium sp. NRC-1 has been sequenced and published.  It consists of a 2 million base pair chromosome and 2 smaller minichromosomes or plasmids (pNRC-100 and pNRC-200).  There are a total of 2,682 predicted genes which have been mapped (see below).  This genome, as well as that of several other Haloarchaea are available on Haloweb.
